PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for securely solidifying grinding sludge. SOLUTION: Concentrated sludge obtained by filtering grinding sludge containing a coolant is compressed and solidified. In this case, the ascending rate of press pressure in the process of the compression is fixed, and the rising is made slower than the accelerated ascending curve of the original press pressure, so that the bursting of air bubbles contained in the concentrated sludge is prevented.
