PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cooling type centrifugal separator capable of suppressing noise by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the air cooling type centrifugal separator wherein an air intake hole 29 is bored in a lid 23 and the open air is sucked in a centrifugal chamber 13 from the air intake hole 29 by the negative pressure generated by the rotation of a rotor 22 and the centrifugal chamber 13 is cooled by the open air, a conical shield member 28 is arranged to the center part of the air intake hole 29 and the leading end 28a thereof is allowed to face the interior of the centrifugal chamber 13.
