PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust an image write timing when images are formed with the use of each of light beams by a plurality of light sources. SOLUTION: Laser light sources have a beam interval set to be Y (A), are adjusted to rotate by a predetermined angle (B), and are arranged to prevent a light beam locus in a horizontal scanning direction from overlapping in a vertical scanning direction. Moreover, an interval of scanning lines (pitch between dots) by light beams on a photoreceptor is set to be 1 dot by a product of an optical magnification Yopt<SB>2</SB>and an interval Y<SB>2</SB>in the vertical scanning direction, and an interval of scanning lines (pitch between dots) in the horizontal scanning direction is set to be n dot (integral multiple of a dot interval corresponding to a resolution) by a product of an optical magnification Xopt<SB>2</SB>and an interval X<SB>2</SB>of laser light sources in the horizontal scanning direction (C). Accordingly, images cars be started to be written from the same horizontal scanning direction for the vertical scanning direction by changing a video clock count number based on one beam by n counts.
