PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which prevents a deterioration in printing quality at an end section of a paper by suppressing the overshoot or undershoot of a speed of a carriage having mounted thereon a print head when the carriage is moved from an accelerating region to a constant speed region and reduces the size of the printer by reducing the accelerating region. SOLUTION: In this inkjet printer, the carriage having mounted thereon the print head is moved in a direction perpendicular to a paper feed direction. An LUT storing a speed control profile for realizing smooth transition of the speed when the carriage is moved from the accelerating region to the constant speed region is provided for speed control along the LUT.
