The invention relates to an arylpropionic derivative which is a tromethamine salt of an arylpropionic acid, namely the tromethamine salt of the (+)-(S)-2-(3-benzoylphenyl)propionic acid, to the process for preparing the same derivative and to the use thereof as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. According to the invention, the derivative has the following general structural formula I: The claimed process for preparing the arylpropionic derivative comprises the reaction of the (+)-(S)-2-(3-benzoylphenyl)propionic acid with the H2NC(CH2OH)3 tromethamine, in equimolar amounts.
