<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high affinity antibody specifically recognizing a soluble hepatocyte growth factor activation factor inhibiting factor-1 (HAI-1), and to provide a method for measuring the soluble HAI-1 with the antibody. <P>SOLUTION: A hybridoma producing a monoclonal antibody exhibiting a high reacting property with the soluble HAI-1 is selected, and the objective monoclonal antibody is prepared from the culture supernatant of the obtained hybridoma.
