The present invention relates to a Telecommunication System for routing a call from a first subscriber via an originating circuit switch over an IP network via a destination circuit switch to a second subscriber. Today address translation tables for translating standardised addresses used in ISDN and PSTN into IP addresses have to be stored in the IP Telephony Gateways. The administrators of the IP Telephony Gateways have to keep track of the number plans of all the different circuit switched networks. When the network of interconnected IP Telephony Gateways grows the required manual administration of the current solutions increases significantly. This problem is solved by means of a Telecommunication System wherein the local circuit switches store the IP addresses to its associated Gateways.
