PURPOSE:An apparatus for dispensing liquid crystal capable of compensating an amount of dispensing liquid crystal according to a height of a spacer and a method for dispensing liquid crystal are provided to fill a liquid crystal panel with the liquid crystal corresponding to a cell gap, thereby preventing problems related to brightness and bad gravity. CONSTITUTION:A dispensing amount calculating unit(164) calculates an amount of dispensing liquid crystal based on an inputted height of a spacer. A compensating amount calculating unit(165) compares the calculated dispensing amount with a set dispensing amount for calculating an error. A power control unit(167) controls a power supply for supplying power corresponding to the dispensing amount balanced by the compensating amount to a solenoid coil. A flow control unit(168) controls flux of a gas supply for supplying gas corresponding to the dispensing amount balanced by the compensating amount to a liquid crystal container. A substrate driving unit(166) drives a substrate for placing a dispensing position of the liquid crystal at a lower part of a liquid crystal dispenser.
