PURPOSE: A highlighting method of a display system and a device therefor are provided to automatically recognize a highlighting area displaying motion pictures. CONSTITUTION: A highlighting method of a display system includes the steps of performing a highlighting program(100), performing a motion picture reproducing program(110), generating create messages for the highlighting program and the motion picture reproducing program and transmitting whether to generate the create messages to a hooking program such as DLL(Dynamic Link Library)(120), hooking a window handle for the motion picture program and transmitting the hooked window handle to the highlighting program(130), determining whether the window handle is for the motion picture program to highlight(140), obtaining coordinates for a motion picture window for a highlighting area of motion pictures if so(150), transmitting the motion picture window coordinates to a monitor via a predetermined interface(160), and outputting control values for controlling red, green, and blue signals, contrast and sharpness of the highlighting area to an MCU(170).
