PURPOSE: Provided are a water-soluble cyclodextrin-fluorene complex used in the biomedical field and a simple process for producing the water-soluble cyclodextrin-fluorene complex in a high yield. CONSTITUTION: The water-soluble cyclodextrin-fluorene complex is produced by the process comprising the steps of: preparing a cyclodextrin solution by dissolving alpha-cyclodextrin or beta-cyclodextrin in water as a polar solvent and preparing a fluorene solution by dissolving fluorene in toluene as a non-polar solvent; reacting the fluorene solution and the cyclodextrin solution; removing the non-polar solvent from the reacted mixture and condensing; washing the condensed resultant and freeze drying.
