PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CLAY-DISPERSED POLYMER NANO-COMPOSITE

PURPOSE: A process for producing a clay-dispersed polymer nano-composite is provided to coagulate polymer emulsion easily without using any coagulant, and to obtain a nano-composite having improved thermal and mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing a clay-dispersed polymer nano-composite is based on the aqueous polymerization in which a clay is dispersed. The process is characterized in that a small amount of a comonomer is added together with monomers to form a polymer nano-composite in which the clay is peeled and dispersed into the sheet-like structure of silicate. In particular, the comonomer contains a functional group having an affinity to the clay.
