<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform processing of merging, enlarging, reducing, clipping, etc., by efficiently using read document data and user register data. <P>SOLUTION: A block on an engine side stores document data read with a read unit 1001 in a temporary image storage means 101 and reads document data from the temporary image storage means 101 by requests of a block on a controller side and performs image processing of enlarging, reducing, etc., different by units of document data and transfers processed image data to a memory module 1022 provided in the block on the controller to store it there.
