<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk for recording data only at a true maximum speed. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk recording medium is configured with: a center hole 34 opened in the center of an optical disk 30; a blank area 33 for recording nothing; a recording area 32 for recording data at the outermost circumference of which the recording speed is maximum; and an OPC area 31 for performing OPC for trial write at the outermost circumference at a recording speed. No data are recorded in areas toward the inner circumference from the recording area 32 to form a blank area. No coating is applied to the blank area or the blank area acts like a guide area in which addresses of recording areas of outer circumference are stored in advance. Thus, data are recorded only on outer circumferential parts and the inner circumferential part records management information to keep the transfer speed of the drive apparatus maximum. Further, since no coating is applied to the areas not in use, the cost of the optical disk can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
