MULTIPLEX TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, CONVERTER AND ALARM TRANSFER METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a converter on the receiving side of occurrence of a failure without using an exclusive frame when the failure occurs between a client device on the transmitting side and the converter.

SOLUTION: When the failure occurs between an FC device 101and a converter 201and a loss of signal (LOS) or a loss of character synchronization (LCS) is detected, the converter 201transfers the alarm information of the LOS or LCS to a converter 202by using an unused value among control code display of degeneracy control codes in a 65B block after performing 64B/65B conversion. The converter 202stops light output to an FC device 102or transmits a 10B-ERR signal when the alarm information is detected.
