PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment for receiving digital broadcast, which can present a state of compatibility with an action of a connectable apparatus to users. SOLUTION: A MPU 17 executes a down load process (obtaining corresponding information of apparatus actions or the like and down loading of IEEE1394 apparatus control software or the like) and a control of an external image recording apparatus 31 or the like with an IEEE1394 interface. Furthermore, the MPU 17, for example, displays an item of 'information on compatibility with individual apparatus actions' as contents of a control panel. If the item is selected, the MPU 17 also displays on a screen the information on compatibility with individual apparatus actions (the information on compatibility with actions on an external apparatus being feasible for connections and on broadcast receiving equipment 30 via IEEE1394 interface).
