PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rigidity of a camera revolving driver against external forces (e.g. gale) designed to smoothly operate its rotator 4 while in rotation but brake and lock the rotator 4 during standing still. SOLUTION: The driver comprises a brake mechanism (e.g. electromagnetic solenoid 2) provided with a lock state for locking a rotator 4 to a fixture 1 owing to a frictional force (generated by the restoring force of a spring 6, for example) and a non-lock state for canceling the frictional force exerted on the rotator 4. The brake mechanism sets the rotator 4 to the lock state while it is rotating, and to the non-lock state during standing still. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
