PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for connecting a portable communication terminal having a camera with a personal computer is provided to offer an interface for the communication between the camera of a portable communication terminal and a personal computer so that a user can use the camera at the personal computer. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for connecting a portable communication terminal(10) having a camera(11) with a personal computer(20) consists of a camera control part(12), an MMS(Mobile Management System) task(13), a USB device driver(17), a camera USB device driver(22), and an application program(23). The camera control part(12) controls the functions of the camera(11) and stores the data received from the camera(11) in a specific memory domain. The MMS task(13) sends a specific command to the camera control part(12) so as to control the camera(11). The USB device driver(17) controls a universal serial bus(18) and transmits the data transferred from the MMS task(13) to the personal computer(20). The camera USB device driver(22) provides an interface so as to control the camera(11) through the universal serial bus(18). The application program(23), interworking with the camera USB device driver(22), works at the personal computer(20) using the camera(11).
