<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a user in an authenticatable range so that the user can determine by himself whether or not the self position of the user is in the authenticatable range of an iris recognition device. <P>SOLUTION: The iris recognition device comprises an image pickup means to pick up the images including the eye image, and an authenticatable range presenting unit 25 having slits.
