PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which realizes power saving without imposing a burden on a user of an apparatus and facilitates handling. SOLUTION: In the digital camera, image data produced by a signal processing part 2 on the basis of an image signal from an image pickup part 1 is displayed with an image displaying means 11 having finder function. When an automatic power source cutting-off means 9 is set to be valid by a setting means 15, a power source 8 is turned off when a camera is not operated for a prescribed period. When the cutting-off means 9 is set to be invalid and the image displaying means 11 is turned into an off-state by a display operation means 16, the setting of the cutting-off means 9 is automatically switched to be valid.
