PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure display conforming to display ability of a destination terminal when the destination terminal is a portable terminal. SOLUTION: Destination is specified by inputting an abbreviated number or an individual address from a panel device 101. Whether or not the destination device is the portable terminal is discriminated and in addition, in the case of the portable terminal, its screen size is discriminated by looking up a destination list 112 or a domain name list 113. When the destination terminal is not the portable terminal, image data stored in a first storage part 110 is converted into an electronic mail form and transmitted to a destination address as an electronic mail. When the destination terminal is the portable terminal, the number of pixels (resolution) of the image data stored in the first storage part 110 is reduced by an image processing part 114 so that the image data matches to its screen size. The reduced image data is stored in a second storage part 111, after that, the image data is converted into the electronic mail form and transmitted to the destination address as an electronic mail.
