The brake disc comprises a floating caliper (2) surrounding it on its edge in a stationary support (40) and an activating device (4). A first brake lining (5) engages a first disc brake lateral surface and a second brake lining (7) opposite the first engages the disc second lateral face (8). The caliper is divided into first (9) and second (10) halves each mounted in a support and able to displace parallel to the rotational axis of the disc brake. The first caliper half carries the first lining whilst the second half carries the second lining. The activation device engages the two halves of the caliper and drives them towards each other to produce braking.
