PURPOSE: Provided are a scagliola composition which prevents an environmental pollution and is inexpensive because manufactured by recycling existing waste gypsum, and which has improved strength in comparison with natural marble or existing scagliola, and a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: The scagliola composition comprises 20-30 wt% thermosetting resin, 70-80 wt% of calcium, and a small quantity of antioxidant. The composition further comprises a small quantity of pigment. The composition is produced by the method comprising the steps of (10) mixing 20-30 wt% thermosetting resin, 70-80 wt% of calcium, and a small quantity of antioxidant to obtain a mixture, (20) charging the mixture into mold to mold the mixture, and (30) polishing a surface of the molded article.
