<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable precise extraction with high efficiency without performing a two-dimensional pattern matching process and a complicated process of the face part of a main subject, when the main subject of a person is extracted in a photographed image, and use the image feature amount of an extracted main subject region for adjusting a photographing condition in the case of photographing and image processing condition after photographing. <P>SOLUTION: A camera is made to face the same direction from the same position and photographing is performed, thereby obtaining a plurality of photographed images having a prescribed main subject in at least one image. An image region of the main subject is extracted from the plurality of photographed images, thereby obtaining information relative to subject of the main subject, which is previously registered in the camera. When photographing is performed with the camera, a region in a photographing area which is fit for the information relative to the main subject is detected by using the registered information relative to the main subject, and the photographing condition is adjusted according to the detected region.
