PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal where the user's self-image indicated on a sub LCD 20 is easy to see at all times even if the illumination of an illuminator 19 is projected to the user as backlight while the illuminator 19 is lit when the user takes his self-image with a camera 3. SOLUTION: The portable terminal is used together with the illuminator for illuminating a subject, and while the above illuminator is lit, the display screen is directed in the direction of shot of the camera for photographing the above subject so as to raise the brightness of the display part for indicating the subject image photographed by the above camera.
