<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for position detection not causing any error in coordinate value due to induction voltage remaining in a circuit in the vicinity part of a coordinate detecting range. <P>SOLUTION: Among the plurality of loop coils installed in the direction of position detection, a loop coil is scanned and selected and radio waves are transmitted and received. At this time, the approximate position of a position indicator is derived based on induction voltage generated in each loop coil. Then, when loop coils are sequentially scanned and selected and when the radio wave is transmitted and received among the specified number of loop coils with a loop coil (PC) generating the maximum induction voltage being at the center, in a case where PC is before P2 and sector scan is carried out in the forward direction or in a case where a reverse direction sector scanning is carried out after P45, by selecting the loop coil which is in a symmetrical position with the PC as the center before selecting P0 or P47, the error in coordinate value due to induction voltage remaining in the circuit in the vicinity part of the coordinate detecting range is cancelled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
