PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve moving operation of a retainer with a jig. SOLUTION: A housing body 10 is provided with a terminal housing part 11 for inserting terminal fittings 13, and a hood part 12 surrounding its circumference. A retainer mounting hole 26 is formed in the housing part 11, and the retainer 40 for preventing the of the terminal fittings 13 from coming off is mounted there from the lateral direction through a retainer insertion hole 33 opened in the hood part 12. A dismounting operation piece part 44 is projected on the retainer 40. A tilting surface 35 tilting inside toward the mounting hole 26 is formed on a surface facing the piece part 44 within the housing part 11. In order to dismounting the terminal fittings 13, the jig J inserted from the front is made to abut on the tilting surface 35 to set it in an oblique attitude, and slantingly operated in a direction opposite to the dismounting direction of the retainer 40 from that form to press the piece part 44. By using a lever action thereby exerted, the retainer 40 is moved from the regular lock position to the tentative lock position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
