PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a commodity selecting device of a vending machine that the commodity selecting operation is complicated because of wrong input or selection of out-of-stock commodity, in a case where the commodity is selected by inputting a commodity number from a numeric keypad. SOLUTION: This commodity selecting device is composed of a selecting means 4 for selecting the commodity in the vending machine, a display means 3 for displaying the commodity, a commodity layout storing means 5 for storing the layout of the commodity in the vending machine, and an operation control part 1 connected to the selecting means 4, the display means 4 and the commodity layout storing means 5. When the commodity is selected, the commodity layout data is displayed on the display means 3 of a liquid crystal panel, and the commodity selection is inputted by the selecting means 4 through a touch panel mounted on the liquid crystal panel, whereby the commodity can be viscerally and correctly selected.
