PURPOSE: A horizontal toaster is provided to improve beauty of the manufactured goods and to secure user's convenience in the use. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal toaster includes a body(110) having a housing unit and forming an inlet to house bread to the housing unit; a carriage(120), on which bread is put, slidably installed to the body to horizontally insert/take off bread on the carriage to/from the housing unit; a heating unit installed to toast the bread put on the carriage; a power supply unit to supply power to the heating unit; and a control unit maintaining power supplied to the heating unit for a predetermined time. The horizontal toaster further includes a warning sound generation unit(150) generating a warning sound if toasting is completed, and a window for checking(160) on which the toasted stage of the bread is indicated.
