PURPOSE: An apparatus for excavating a small-diameter tunnel in the gravel and boulder underground layer is provided to easily excavate the small-diameter tunnel regardless of the soil by backing an inner cylinder and removing amber stone and boulder, although big amber stone and bounder come into the inner cylinder. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for excavating a small-diameter tunnel in the gravel and boulder underground layer comprises a front-end drive head(10) disposed to the excavating front surface; a rear-end drive head(20) detachably combined to the front-end drive head; an excavating screw(30) excavating earth and sand or gravel of the excavating front surface, while rotating in the front-end and rear-end drive heads; a transfer screw(40) transferring and discharging the earth and sand or gravel excavated by the excavating screw; a rotating unit rotating the excavating screw and the transfer screw; and a propelling unit of forming a space for press-fit of a casing pipe(70) by pushing the front-end drive head and rear-end drive head, and the excavating screw and transfer screw into the ground, and of press-fitting the casing pipe into the space.
