PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a client to simply see the status of each part of a network facsimile apparatus in a home page form. SOLUTION: The time for updating a status icon is set in a status file. When the update time is inserted in the read status file, a WWW browser updates the status file every time the update time elapses. The update time is variably set from a client machine, and when an update time setting icon is selected, a set screen file is delivered so that a desired update time can be input.
