PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input pen whose full length is lengthened in performing an input operation so that this input pen can be easily gripped, and whose full length is shortened in housing the input pen in an input device, so that the input pen can be easily housed in the compact input device, and whose internal shaft 3 and heat crown 5 sliding in a shaft barrel 1 can be easily and surely mounted. SOLUTION: In performing an input operation with an input pen, an internal shaft 3 is moved backward in a longitudinal direction with respect to a shaft barrel 1, so that the full length of the input pen can be lengthened, and that the input pen can be easily gripped. Also, in housing the input pen in an input device, the internal shaft 3 is moved forward in the longitudinal direction with respect to the shaft barrel 1, so that the full length of the input pen can be shortened. Furthermore, the head crown 5 is mounted on the rear part of the internal shaft 3 in a state that the rear part of the internal shaft 3 is projected from the rear edge of the shaft cylinder 1 so that the head crown 5 can be mounted while it is confirmed with the eyes.
