PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for preventing a voltage detector from detecting a voltage incorrectly when an excessive rush current flows through at a start-up of a voltage regulator. SOLUTION: In a voltage regulator 5, a constant voltage is generated with an output transistor M1 and the constant voltage is outputted as an output voltage VOUT from an output terminal 9. The output current of the output transistor M1 is limited to be equal to or below a current limit value with an output current limiting circuit MA. The output current limiting circuit MA is composed of a first output current limiting circuit MA1 having a larger current limit value, and a second output current limiting circuit MA2 having a smaller current limit value. Then, at the start-up of the voltage regulator 5, the output current of the output transistor M1 is limited with the second output current limiting circuit MA2 having a smaller current limit value, so that the voltage detector is prevented from detecting a voltage incorrectly when the excessive rush current flows through and the system is prevented from being reset incorrectly.
