PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the inverter restart time, when a protective operation is made or a failure occurs on one of a plurality of inverter units by stopping the applicable inverter gate control without turning off the line breaker, to decrease the abrasion on the line breaker contact, and to prevent deterioration of ride comfort and acceleration, when any one of the inverter units fails. SOLUTION: When a protective operation is on or a failure occurs on one of a plurality of inverter units 5-1, 5-2, the applicable inverter control section 60-1, 60-2, stops only the inverter on which the protective operation or failure is detected and other sound inverters are controlled to continue operating without turning off the line breaker 4.
