PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of saving power. SOLUTION: The communication terminal, for supplying a clock to a line connection section through a transformer and using the clock to produce a power supply for a line side circuit section at the same time, has an interface section connected to a host device. The interface section receives a power supply from the host and is operated. The line connection section has a means for clock supply, a means for outputting a control signal to a main body power supply section, a clock switching management for supplying the clock to the line connection section, and has a means for switching a signal produced from a synchronized signal or a switching signal by using the interface section of the main body or a signal from the clock generating section.
