PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of displaying a present time, whereby a user can easily confirm the present time even on the occurrence of power interruption of run-down battery. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a time update interruption signal from an RTC (Real Time Clock) 111, an application CPU102 in a sleep state in a suspend mode is started at a low frequency clock to display a present time after update on a sub LCD19b. Further, upon the receipt of a backlight interruption signal from the RTC111, the application CPU102 in the sleep state in the suspend mode is started at the low frequency clock to light a backlight 110.
