PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a driving apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to boost an address voltage to a desired voltage or drop the address voltage to a ground voltage by boosting the current of an inductor of a power recovery circuit before applying a pulse to an address electrode and applying the boosted energy in a process for applying a pulse. CONSTITUTION: A driving apparatus of a plasma display panel includes the first and the second capacitors(Cr1,Cr2), the first and the second switching elements(M1,M2), the third and the fourth switching elements(M3,M4), the first and the second inductors(L1,L2), and the fifth and the sixth switching elements. The first and the second capacitors(Cr1,Cr2) are connected between the first and the voltages. The first and the second switching elements(M1,M2) are connected in parallel to a contact point between the first and the second capacitors. The third and the fourth switching elements(M3,M4) are serially between the first and the second voltages. The first and the second inductors(L1,L2) are connected between the first switching element(M1) and a contact point between the third and the fourth switching elements(M3,M4) and between the second switching element(M2) and the contact point between the third and the fourth switching elements(M3,M4). The fifth and the sixth switching elements are serially connected between the contact point between the third and the fourth switching elements(M3,M4) and the second voltage. A contact point between the fifth and the sixth switching elements is connected to a panel capacitor(Cp). |
