Benzamide derivatives useful as NO synthase inhibitors and lipidic peroxidation inhibitors

Amidines of formula (I') their salts and their use as medicines and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are disclosed, wherein the variables A, X, Y, B R39 and Ö are as described in the specification. These amidines have an NO synthase inhibitory activity and a lipidic peroxidation inhibitory activity and are useful for treating neurodegenerative diseases.
