FLASH DRIVER OF OPEN ARCHITECTURE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash driver architecture which has open compatibility and operates as an interface between most types of file systems and flash memory media regardless of vendors.

SOLUTION: The flash driver contains flash abstraction logic functioning as a manager for operating common characteristics to a plurality types of flash memory media. The flash driver can also contain programable flash media logic for executing more specific operation in direct communications with flash memory media. A user/vendor of a computer device optimally selects a set of programable entry points associated with the flash media logic to assure the combined and seamless operation between the file system selected by the user/vendor and the flash memory media.
