PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stator for a rotating-electric machine, wherein damages to magnets are avoided and the press-fitting work of the magnets into a magnet holder and a yoke is facilitated. SOLUTION: With respect to the stator for a rotating-electric machine, a first support surface which applies press-fitting force to the magnets is in a shape of dispersing the press-fitting force. That is, the first support surface has a flat surface to be abutted against substantially the entire end faces of the magnets or a surface with a plurality of projections dispersedly arranged thereon. A second support surface has projections in contact only with a part of the end faces of the magnets so as to reduce frictional force between the magnets and the magnet holder. The projections on the first support surface may comprise annular projections and radial direction projections. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
