PURPOSE: A signal processing method in a multi input and multi output mobile system is provided to improve the performance of a multi input and multi output mobile system by using the correlation between antennas as well as the independence, in consideration of practical characteristics of transmitting/receiving antennas. CONSTITUTION: A transmitting block, composed of a plurality of antennas, comprises a hybrid-ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest) system(20) and a DEMUX(22). The hybrid-ARQ system(20) is in charge of hybrid-ARQ processing. The DEMUX(22) executes serial-to-parallel processing for the symbols made by the hybrid-ARQ system(20) so that the symbols can be independently transmitted to their respective antennas in sequence. A receiving block, composed of a plurality of antennas, comprises a hybrid-ARQ system(24), a transmit signal vector estimator(26), and a MUX(28). The hybrid-ARQ system(24) executes hybrid-ARQ processing. The transmit signal vector estimator(26) detects the symbols transmitted from transmitting antennas in a zero-forcing method, an MMSE(Minimum-Mean-Square-Error) method or a V-BLAST(Vertical Bell Laboratories Layered Space Time) receiving method. The MUX(28) executes parallel-to-serial processing for estimated symbols and arranges them in transmitted sequence.
