HYDROPHILIC GEL FOR GEL-FORM ELECTROLYTIC SOLUTION, SEPARATOR CONTAINING HYDROPHILIC GEL, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic gel having a high electrolytic solution retaining rate and an equivalent performance to the conventional arrangement using an electrolytic solution and a separator, capable of suppressing evaporation of the water constituting the electrolytic solution, and constituting a gel-form electrolytic solution having no risk of leakage of the solution, and also provide a separator containing such hydrophilic gel and its manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: The hydrophilic gel to form a gel-form electrolytic solution is generated through copolymerization of hydrophilic acrylic series monovinyl monomers and aromatic series polyvinyl monomers and having an aqueous series electrolytic solution retaining rate of six times or more (by wt.), preferably 8 or more, while the separator containing the hydrophilic gel is formed from a porous base material whereto the gel is attached and retained.
