<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect user's intention to give page numbers. <P>SOLUTION: An annotation addition designating part 131 sets validation/ invalidation of an annotation. An arbitrary page number is inputted to the start number designated area 133 of a start number designated part 132, and a 'continue' button 134 is operated to designate the page number next to added a page number just before, and thus contents of a page number memory 123 are controlled. An annotation addition control part 121 makes the number stored in the page number memory 123 as a page number and composites the page number with a document image to output an image.
