<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the miniaturization of a device capable of utilizing a plural ity of kinds of optical recording media. <P>SOLUTION: A laser element 10 for CD (compact disk) and a laser element 12 for DVD (digital video disk) are provided so as to be confronted with each other across and optical path merging means 60. In short, the laser element 10 for CD and the laser element 12 for DVD are provided at positions 180 degrees apart around the optical path merging means 60. Moreover, the distance between the laser element 10 and the laser element 12 is shortened by reflecting the DVD laser beam twice in the means 60 to realize the miniaturization of an optical pickup device 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
