<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a reformed gas having rich hydrogen promptly when the reformed gas having rich hydrogen has become necessary next time with the increased load, by effectively utilizing the excess hydrogen that becomes unnecessary at the reduced load. <P>SOLUTION: This is a fuel cell system that comprises a reformer (8) for generating a reformed gas containing hydrogen using a gas containing oxygen and a steam, a fuel cell (9) that generates electricity by reacting the hydrogen and oxygen in this reformed gas, and a load device (18, 19) for consuming power generated by this fuel cell (9). The system comprises an excess hydrogen judgement means (21) that judges whether or not the excess hydrogen exists and a reformer warming means (23, 24, and 26) for warming the reformer (8) by burning the excess hydrogen when the excess hydrogen judgement means has judged that the excess hydrogen exists. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
