PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas purging device capable of carrying out degas from a container constantly and preventing invasion of outer air and suitable for an electric double layer capacitor at low cost. SOLUTION: The gas purging device includes a space 15c for forming a part of gas purging path 15, a gas transmitting film 19b for blocking an inlet opening thereof, a gas transmitting film 19a for blocking an outlet opening thereof, and fluid 8 oily at room temperatures and chemically inactive with which the space is filled. In this case the fluid 8 has characteristics of surface tension 1.5 times of that of the gas transmitting film. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
