PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit which has a cooling system, complying with the criteria of each regulation, is able to cool the inside of a power box, even after a storage battery is thoroughly discharged due to consumption. SOLUTION: This power unit, which includes a power box 5 for housing at least the storage battery 4, a solar generation means 6, and a cooling fan 12, is equipped with the above fan 12 which circulates air within the power box 5 and also discharges the heated air to the outside thereby cooling the inside of the power box 5 and a means which controls the drive of the fan 12 for cooling the inside of the power box 5 by the power obtained by the solar generation means 6, and further, this is equipped with a means which cools the power box 5 by driving the fan, by a switching the circuit to supply the power generated by the solar generation means 6 to the fan 12, or to supply it to the storage battery 4, or to supply the power in the storage battery 4 to the fan 12 and a means for controlling the number of revolutions of the cooling fan.
