PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information gathering device which can efficiently obtain a desired scene to be viewed. SOLUTION: A key phrase search part 25 of the information gathering device 1 searches the speech of the cast of a know-how introducing program like a cooking program for a key phrase like a 'today's point' that a viewer previously selects. When the key phrase is found, an editing part 21 edits parts of several minutes before and after the key phrase into a know-how scene.
