PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sink device in which assembly is easy and fixation is firm. SOLUTION: A heat sink device comprises a supporter and two fixing units, and can be fixed to the surface of a central processing unit. The heat sink has a groove and a projected block is provided in the groove. A through hole is opened at the center of the projected block. The supporter is housed in the through hole of the projected block of the heat sink, and contains a spring and wedge-shaped blocks provided at both ends of the spring. Any wedge-shaped block has a slope, and when a force is not applied to the spring, the total length of the wedged-shaped block and two shim blocks is slightly longer than the length of the groove of the heat sink. The two fixing units have spaces for housing the central processing unit and a socket, and include slopes mating with slopes of the two shim blocks. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
