PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial connector of excellent connection reliability and assembly workability for easily mounting an electronic element inside without per soldering, and a method for connecting the coaxial connector. SOLUTION: An inner conductor terminal connected to an inner conductor of a coaxial cable and an outer conductor terminal connected to an outer conductor of the coaxial cable are provided. The inner conductor terminal comprises a first terminal having a fitting part to be fitted to a counter side terminal on a tip thereof, and an elastic-contact piece which is elastically brought into contact with one electrode of a chip-shaped electronic element on a base end thereof, and a second terminal having a contact part brought into contact with the other electrode of the chip-shaped electronic element on a tip thereof and an inner conductor connection part to be connected to an inner conductor of the coaxial cable on a base end thereof. In the coaxial connector, the chip- shaped electronic element is elastically pressed and held between the elastic- contact piece of the first terminal and the contact part of the second terminal.
