PURPOSE: A method for controlling a sled of an optical recorder/reproducer is provided to measure a signal crossing a track, in order to know an exact transferred amount of a sled, and to exactly move a sled motor as much as a deviated objective lens, thereby exactly controlling a center of the objective lens during a track jump. CONSTITUTION: If a track jump command is inputted(401), an optical recorder/reproducer counts the number of crossing times on tracks during a track jump(402). If the counted number becomes a number preset for sled transferring(403), the optical recorder/reproducer drives a sled motor as much as an amount of multiplying the counted track crossing number by a track pitch of a disk(404). The optical recorder/reproducer resets the counted track crossing number(405), and checks whether the track jump is completed(406). If so, the optical recorder/reproducer completes the procedure.
